4/19/2016 - Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center names new CEO

Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center has appointed a new chief executive officer.

HCA Virginia announced on Monday the appointment of Michael Clark, effective June 1.

Clark has more more than 30 years of hospital and health care leadership experience.

He most recently served as president of LifePoint Health’s American Division, overseeing a 14-hospital system. Prior to that, he served as chief operating officer there. He also has served as CEO of Georgetown Community Hospital and Logan Memorial Hospital.

“Michael has been in the interim role during the past month and we are excited that he is coming aboard permanently,” said Rob Carell, president of HCA’s Capital Division.

The hospital’s previous CEO Greg Madsen, announced his departure earlier this year. He was appointed in 2014.

Madsen was named vice president for the eastern division at Carilion Clinic in Roanoke in March.

The 6-year-old hospital also was led by Tim Tobin, who retired in 2013 after being named to the post in 2008.
